Donald Maass usually posts what he and the other agents at his agency are looking for each month--books they'd like to see proposals for. Not long ago, he started posting weekly "breakout novel" writing prompts.
I think they're worth checking out.

Thanks, Kim. Always love a good prompt. Which prompts me to prompt my writer friends to write about my prompt for the 100 day challenge. But I have to go to work now, so I won't be prompt with my prompt.
